Frequently Asked Questions

Can we see some of your work?

Of course. We can arrange for you to take a look at some of the loft conversions we've done in the past. In fact, we'd strongly recommend that you do, in order to give you an idea of what we can achieve for you. Most of the work we do, is as a direct result of someone seeing some of our existing lofts. Whilst looking at our gallery pictures will give you an idea of the sort of work we do, to get the full "Wow!" effect you need to see it for yourself!

Can my loft be converted or is it too small?

Most people who take a look at their loft, think there's no way that it could be converted to additional living space. However, you may be surprised to find out that 90% of traditional roofs can be converted.

How much does it cost?

Each loft is different, therefore we will provide you with a free, fully detailed, inclusive quote.

Is my loft big enough?

In order to comply with Building Regulations, a loft needs to be a minimum of 2.3m ( 7'6" ) at its highest point, but with a bit of imaginative design, dormer windows and staircase placement, we can make the most of even the smallest loft!

How long will it take?

For an averaged size house, it will take approximately 5 weeks, from work commencing to completion. Our team don't hang about, with a typical working day starting at 8am and ending at 5pm .... 5 to 6 days each week.

Do I need planning permission?

Most people are surprised to find out that the majority of lofts DO NOT need planning permission. You only need this if you plan to put a dormer on the front of your house, and your house is within 26 metres of the road. You may also need it, if your house has been substantially extended in the past. If you do need planning permission, we'll help you with all aspects of your application.

Will I need to arrange Building Regulations Approval?

We are used to dealing with Building Control at local councils, and we'll help you complete any necessary paperwork. The cost of Building Control Approval is between £300 and £500 (depending on the size of the loft), and this will be included in your quote.

I've got an old water tank in my loft. Is this a problem?

Not at all. Using our highly skilled plumbers, we can reposition any plumbing in order to maximise the usable space in the loft.
